UKs busiest party band between 2000 - 2022

Treacle were one of the UK 's busiest bands. Fronted by multi instrumentalist Doris Brendel who sings, plays guitar, saxophone, electric violin and flute and Lee Dunham on vocals, guitar and mandolin, Treacle earned a reputation for anarchic fun, audience participation and were guaranteed to put a smile on even the most hardened faces. Formed in 2000 Treacle became the golden standard of covers entertainment for venues across the country including the biggest high street night-clubs such as the Walkabouts, Chicago Rocks, Jumpin Jacks, Maxwells and Smokey Joes; holiday resorts including Butlins, Havens and Dean resorts, as well as lots of private functions and weddings.

For 10 years the band was in such demand that they were fully booked a year in advance at a time playing 5-6 shows a week and saw in New Years Eve at Butlins for an astonishing 18 years. Treacle played a variety of theme nights but were best known for crazy party sets featuring medleys, whacky costumes including wigs, hats and cow trousers, and entertaining crowds with competitions and sing-alongs. Imagine 'Sweet Child of Mine' played behind the guitarist's head with a rubber chicken, air drum competitions and the entire audience dancing to 'Zorba the Greek' on Mandolin; guess the TV tune and even jumping on trampolines during a set with a touring circus show. 

Treacle are and remain one of the most unique and entertaining bands on the circuit. Doris and Lee are now concentrating on their original material but occasionally play covers for exclusive clients.
